Mrs Linford has asked the year 8s to send in their ‘Reasons To Be Thankful’ whilst they are at home with their families. During this strange time, we are all feeling concerned and confused but reminding ourselves of the things that we are thankful for can help ease our worries.

Here are some lovely ‘Reasons To Be Thankful’ sent in by our pupils:

“I am thankful for my little sister Leylah. She is amazing. She shows that she loves me by giving me hugs as soon as I wake up and when she goes to sleep. She is the person who I can be a weirdo with and who I hang out with all the time. I love her so much. She is my favourite best friend ever. She’s 4 years old and the whole time she’s been alive, she’s been there for me.” – Chloe

“I am thankful for the chance to play my guitar more” – Thomas

“I am thankful for my friends and family, they support me when I’m having a bad day. They mean the world to me! I am thankful for my Great Grandma. She still remembers me but because she has dementia, she doesn’t remember our names and who we are but she knows we love her. I am so grateful to have my best friends because they are so kind and funny! I am still in contact with my best friend from primary and I hope to see her soon! And finally, I am thankful for my mum, my dad, my brother and my auntie, uncle and my two lovely cousins.” – Emelia

“I’m thankful for my dance teachers and the rest of my dance family for helping me stay focused and to carry on working positively through this hard time.” – Phoebe

“I’m thankful that even though everyone’s stuck inside we’ve still got a beautiful sky to look at.” – Aoife

“I am thankful for my dad who makes me laugh even when I am really upset and he just brings joy into my life” – Ella

“I am thankful for basketball as it keeps me entertained and the whole family can play. (Sort of.)” – Spike

“I am thankful for my mum, dad and brother Joe. I feel safe and happy with them.” – Dan

” I’m thankful for my fridge! I’m thankful for the food we can get still during the lock down.” – Ben

“I am thankful for being safe at home with my family.” – Callum

“I’m thankful for having my family with me during this time.” – Kimberley

“I am thankful for my family, they look after me everyday and always do what they do for me. I am forever grateful to have the people and dog in my life because I don’t know what I’d do if it weren’t for them.” – Rafael

“I am very thankful for my piano as I love to play on it and learn new pieces and it’s a great thing to do to pass the time and relax as I never get bored of it.” – Qiyi

“I am thankful for my brother for keeping me active and making me laugh and giving me big hugs” – Ella

“I am thankful for my family because not only do they keep a roof over my head, they keep me happy.” – Orlagh

“I am thankful that no longer have to rush to brush my hair in the morning before getting the bus to school. I am also thankful for having my siblings to entertain me during lock down” – Crystal
