Our Catholic ethos and values are at the heart of our community at St. James’. Students receive an education rooted in the Catholic faith and Gospel values.

The priests of our local parishes support us, working closely with our Lay Chaplain, Mrs Bennett. The liturgical life of the school is a partnership of all members of staff, students and student leaders. Students have the opportunity to explore their faith through prayer and reflection, retreats and activities in order to grow in God’s love.

The Chapel

It has been a conscious decision of senior leaders over many years that we have a dedicated Chapel. The Chapel is a place of quiet and tranquility amidst the bustle of life. It is a place where we can find peace.  The Chapel is the heart of our community and it is vital in the prayer life of the school. It is where a lot of our liturgy takes place. Students can use the Chapel for quiet reflection and prayer during the school day. Staff and students have the opportunity to bring their own prayer intentions to the altar.

We are fortunate at St. James’ to have a prayer garden, offering students an outside space for quiet reflection. We have this wonderful space thanks to the fundraising efforts of staff and students. The beautiful statue of Our Lady was a gift from our PTA.
