Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education is integral to the wellbeing of pupils at St James,’ and their preparation for life in modern Britain.
In Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 there is a well-planned programme of lessons, enrichment opportunities and extra-curricular activities. Our aim is to provide pupils with the information to make appropriate choices in all aspects of their lives and to teach the fundamental British Values of democracy, rule of law, liberty, mutual respect and tolerance.
Pupils also receive careers education and work related learning opportunities which prepare them for the next stage of their education, employment or training.
We also provide pupils with information in the following ways:
- Assembly time each week
- Form time
- Guest speakers and other organisations during the year
- Curriculum Excellence Week
